This panel discussion will highlight concrete examples of the head and heart aspects of ranging from the power of storytelling to an improved understanding of language and terms. One of the challenges in talking about race is having a vocabulary to talk about race and racism. In this session\, we’ll review essential terms such as diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, and intersectionality that can help to ground conversations about racial equity and we’ll also create space for participants to build their comfort level with these terms. \nFacilitator:\n \nKeith H. Green is an accomplished Senior Executive\, Thought Leader\, Speaker and Facilitator with more than 30 years of success in nonprofits and defense. This workshop provides exercises and tools to guide fundraising staff as they put their data to use. SUMMARY:Managing Uncertainty: The Healthy “Workplace” in the Seemingly Never-ending Covid Era
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThis session focuses explicitly on workplace/organizational health. It flows from a set of basic assumptions. The most important is that organizational “health” is the biggest determinant of success and satisfaction and that the key components of a healthy organization are: high levels of trust\, a clear and well-communicated strategy\, honed focus on execution\, clarity as opposed to ambiguity\, solid communication and everyone “pulling in the same direction.” \nThere was an implicit assumption that a “return to the office” was more or less predictable. Dates for a return were set\, and plans made. Omicron\, along with the impacts of misinformation and certain behaviors\, have upended these expectations. \nThese sessions have focused on the choices that non-profit organizations would have in the “post-Covid” world. Depending on circumstances\, these choices fell into three “boxes”: \n\nUse the uncertainty and disruption to play a transformative role in their communities\, i.e.\, “Go Big;”\nAdapt to what appears to be the new “normal\,” e.g.\, changes in funding streams and the needs of the communities served;\nWait and see what happens over the months ahead.\n\nGoals of this Session: To provide non-profit leaders with a set of organizational tools for sustaining workplace cohesion and trust in a period of uncertainty. \nDiscussion Points and Themes for This Session: \n\n“Out of Practice”/Relearning: Addressing cumulative Effects of the Pandemic\nWhere do we want to be? SUMMARY:How to maximize your Organizational Assessments
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nIt is overwhelming how many different assessments exist in the world and how many different aspects of our work they assess. How do we choose the right one? How do we know if it is assessing what we are looking to assess? How do we make sense of the report after the assessment is completed? And then what? \nThese are very common questions and very common problems in a saturated market for organizational assessments. \nIn this webinar\, we will cover the range of assessments that exist in the workplace\, from staff and executive performance management to board governance\, from stages of DEI to organizational life cycles\, and organizational assessments that measure organizational capacity. We will discuss Support Center’s approach to integrating organizational assessments into the strategy and actions of an organization and how they can be a powerful vehicle toward creating buy-in and momentum from various stakeholders across an organization. \nIn this workshop\, participants will: \n\nLearn about the different types of organizational assessments that exist and some examples of assessments in each category with a range in pricing\nLearn about Support Center’s organizational assessment process and how to maximize the results and implement take-aways with intention\nDiscuss pain-points of past assessment processes and provide peer-to-peer consultation on discovered practices that worked\, as well as failed attempts to avoid\n\nLearn more about our certificate programs! \nFacilitator:\nZachary Litif is Associate Director of Data and Analytics with Support Center. Since joining Support Center in 2018\, Zach has led the launch of the Organizational Navigator Program and has spearheaded the Salesforce and third-party app implementation process\, significantly improving Support Center’s data collection and reporting capacity. Over the past three years\, Zach has transitioned his career from intellectual property litigation\, at Pepper Hamilton LLP\, in Boston\, MA\, to focus on capacity building and program development within the nonprofit and government sectors. In that period\, Zach has worked with the Department of Design and Construction to build a Virtual Reality Program for the STEAM High School Summer Internship Program; worked with Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York to reestablish the One Fair Wage Coalition and aided research into after-hours childcare\, and designed an automated resource directory for Leadership Development programs available to New Yorkers for the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation.
