DESCRIPTION:Description: \nThis webinar is a “how-to” in the creation of impactful\, successful\, presentations for any medium\, including video conferencing. The facilitator\, Laurie Krauz\, has a track record of helping clients write and deliver motivating messages using her practical techniques for over 30 years. The first portion of the webinar will be an introduction of techniques that Laurie Krauz has developed for over the past 30 years. The second portion will allow for some brainstorming with participants\, who volunteer to participate in advance of the session\, to discuss and workshop presentations being used or developed (rough drafts are more than welcome!). This is an opportunity to celebrate the resilience of our nonprofit sector and find the opportunities that will help our leaders thrive in the months ahead. \nSESSIONS :\nAdapting Your Board to take on 2022\n8/24/2021 \n10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Eastern Time) \nJoin us for a conversation with board coach\, Michael Davidson\, focused on how boards have been adapting over the last year. We’ll discuss the importance of balancing the effectiveness of virtual meetings and the need for in-person connection and support\, as well as the board’s role in advancing diversity\, equity\, and inclusion initiatives. We also want to learn from you – what have been your struggles and success stories in recent months? We will share a survey ahead of the session\, so we can share and respond to your experiences. \nHow Scenario Planning Can Ease Your Way Forward\n8/25/2021 \n10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Eastern Time) \nThe pandemic presented a number of scenarios very few nonprofits predicted. One gift of this experience is that it challenges us to use our creativity to imagine how we can continue to deliver on our missions in the most adverse of circumstances. Scenario Planning is not something you do when the crisis is upon you but\, instead\, it is something that allows you to enter the fray with less stress and a clear mind when both negative AND positive events occur. \nNonprofits tend to do some level of scenario planning within their strategic planning cycle\, though waiting to do so may not serve them well. In this session\, we will begin with establishing the right mindset and attitude toward scenario planning. You will hear from other nonprofits how scenario planning helped save and extend the services they offer. We will discuss how to pick the most important scenarios to run. Following this\, we will introduce multiple models you can use to test the “what if” scenarios that could have the most impact on your organization’s ability to deliver. Finally\, we will spend some time reviewing the scenarios you bring to this session to troubleshoot your specific challenges. \n\n\nPRESENTERS\nRobin Yates (she/her) – Executive Enabler\, Yates Advisory LLC \nRobin Yates specializes in the areas of strategic planning\, developing partnerships\, program design and implementation\, plus team and executive coaching . In her work as a nonprofit consultant\, she is known for engaging\, facilitated sessions that allow teams to collaborate effectively using tools and techniques from her experience both in the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds. Prior to starting her business in 2014\, Robin spent 26 years at IBM\, where she executed acquisitions and divestitures\, negotiated outsourcing agreements\, managed diverse teams\, helped launch new businesses\, and managed the ThinkPad brand across Europe\, Middle East and Africa.\nA certified Women Business Enterprise with the city of New York\, Robin now focuses solely on nonprofits and government agencies working to improve healthcare\, social justice\, and the environment. She is most recently served on the board of the Berkshire Kripalu Community\, and has previously served on the boards of Denver Partners and Colorado Women’s Employment and Education. Robin received her BS from Vanderbilt University\, an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado\, and Certificates in Arts Administration and Leadership Coaching from NYU. \nRodney Fuller (he/him) – President\, PYE – Pursue Your Excellence \nRodney Fuller is formerly the President of The Rensselaerville Institute (TRI) and now a Sr\, Consultant to the organization. For more than 50 years\, TRI has helped improve peoples’ lives by focusing relentlessly on the results that matter to them. Prior to TRI\, Rodney\, has been the Chief Executive Officer at several other organizations\, most notable\, was his tenure as the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Boys and Girls Club of Newark. One of the largest Boys and Girls Clubs in the Country\, an anchor institution in the city of Newark\, and the city’s largest after-school provider. Rodney has been featured in local and national media. He was selected as an outstanding African American role model and featured in a series of ads that aired on NBC television. He has appeared on Good Morning America\, Good Day New York\, and New York 1. He has been featured in articles published by the NY Times and Daily News newspapers. Rodney is a UnionSquare Award Recipient\, a Robert Bowne Foundation Research Fellow. \nMichael Davidson (he/him)\, Board Coach \nMichael Davidson is a consultant specializing in nonprofit board development\, management support\, leadership transition\, and executive coaching for nonprofit managers. He has over 30 years of experience in nonprofit board and managerial leadership and has provided board training and retreat facilitation for more than 150 nonprofit organizations\, enabling them to translate a passion for the mission into effective leadership strategies. DESCRIPTION:Description: \nStress is how our body responds to the challenges or demands we face. While stress often gets a bad name\, it can be good for us in short bursts. However\, other types of stress\, ones that continues indefinitely\, can have long-term health impact if left unaddressed. This interactive workshop will help participants identify the WARNING signs their bodies give when they are BECOMING stressed so they can intervene sooner rather than later. In addition\, resilience\, factors that make us resilient\, risk factors that are impedes building resilience\, and strategies for building resilience muscles will be explored. \nIn this workshop\, participants will: \n\nRecognize warning signs that are indicators that they are BECOMING stressed\nIdentify some strategies that\nthey can use to help themselves when they are becoming stressed\nothers can implement to help them when they are becoming stressed\nthey can use to help others when they are becoming stressed\nExplain what resiliency is and identify factors and resources that promote it\n\nLearn more about our certificate programs! \nFacilitator:\n  \nFaith Saunders or you may hear\, Faith McCalla – same person!
