SUMMARY:Strategic Planning Part 1 - Laying the Groundwork for an Effective Process
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThe first of a two part series on Strategic Planning! In this first workshop we delve into how to scope your planning efforts. The biggest time crunch in completing a strategic plan is in completing the discovery work needed to make sure your plans are based on a realistic view of where you are both internally and externally. In this workshop we will share techniques for learning how to get a handle on your current and possible future states even before you develop the questions you would like your strategic plan to address. We will dig into important questions such as: What does it take to analyze your internal capabilities\, program effectiveness\, and external forces? How do you ask good questions (and of whom) to inform your planning? Who needs to be involved in creating your strategic plan? Whether you are ready to jump in on completing a full strategic plan or want to get a head start by creating a good foundation for when you are ready to do so\, this workshop will give you the tools you need to put the right plan in place to do what is right for you right now. \nLearn more about our certificate programs! \nFacilitator:\n \nRobin Yates is an Affiliate Consultant at the Support Center. SUMMARY:Strategic Planning Part 2 - Executing on an Approach that works for Your Organization
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThis second part of our series on Strategic Planning takes you into what typically goes into creating a strategic plan against a backdrop of the scoping work you completed in our first workshop. We will talk through each of the elements within the three phases of a strategic planning process: Discovery\, Plan Development\, and Implementation. You will leave with a template of activities based on what you identify as necessary to get underneath the core questions to be addressed within your plan\, including timing\, owners\, and expected outcomes. Where some dread a strategic planning process\, you will see how planning ahead on the effort itself can bring a team together\, excite them about the direction you’re going\, and build professional skills along the way. \nLearn more about our certificate programs! \nFacilitator:\n \nRobin Yates is an Affiliate Consultant at the Support Center. SUMMARY:Supervisory Essentials: Managing People and Leading Teams
DESCRIPTION:IN-PERSON WORKSHOP\nCertificate Program: Executive Leadership; Leadership & Supervision\nDescription:\nIs there a difference between the skills and qualities that earned you the manager role and those that will help you effectively lead your team? Many leaders and managers supervise staff by the seat of their pants or based on the management styles and characteristics of leaders they admire or based on what they did not like in their own supervision. \nYou will learn skills and techniques to match your leadership style to the needs and behaviors of your team\, promote success\, and build a team culture of collaboration\, empowerment\, and trust.
