SUMMARY:How to right-size your efforts for what’s needed right now
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nPerhaps you’ve been “told” you need to create or update a strategic plan\, or perhaps you believe it would help your teams stay focused on achieving your mission. Whatever the reason you’re embarking on this effort\, know that not all strategic plans are created equal. Strategic Planning processes can take anywhere from 3-12 months to complete. There are micro-plans\, theories of change\, cases for giving\, needs analyses\, and more that could all be considered part of an overall plan. Yet\, there could also be a subset of planning processes that will help you meet the moment. \nIn this 90-minute workshop\, Robin Yates\, our nonprofit strategist and certified leadership coach\, will bring you up to speed on some of the key ingredients for successful planning. In her work as a nonprofit consultant\, she is known for engaging\, facilitated sessions that allow teams to collaborate effectively using tools and techniques from her experience both in the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds. Prior to starting her business in 2014\, Robin spent 26 years at IBM\, where she executed acquisitions and divestitures\, negotiated outsourcing agreements\, managed diverse teams\, helped launch new businesses\, and managed the ThinkPad brand across Europe\, Middle East and Africa. \nA certified Women Business Enterprise with the city of New York\, Robin focuses on nonprofits and government agencies working to make improvements in social justice\, healthcare\, education\, and the environment. She serves on the board of the New York Civil Liberties Union and previously served on the boards of the Berkshire Kripalu Community\, Denver Partners\, and Colorado Women’s Employment and Education. Robin received her BS from Vanderbilt University\, an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado\, and Certificates in Arts Administration and Leadership Coaching from NYU.
