A Social Service agency is seeking Youth Counselors to join our team! The Assistant Support Counselor (ASC) supervises youth at-risk ages 13-17 in a residential program setting. Residential programs are located in Union County.

Responsibilities for an ASC include assisting youth with daily living skills, providing supportive counseling, attending recreation trips, administering medications, planning menus, food shopping, completing documentation, and transporting youth to and from school and medical appointments.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a genuine desire to work with youth.

Full Time hours are 4:00PM – 12:00AM and includes working Saturday and Sunday. EOE

One week of PAID orientation is required prior to the start of your assignment. Ongoing PAID training outside of normal work hours is also required.

Full Time positions include a comprehensive benefits package!

We provide you with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

Provides training for daily living skills, supportive counseling, and community integration for youth at-risk
Assists with individuals’ needs and develops an effective counseling/support relationship
Transports members to medical appointments, recreation activities, etc.
Helps ensure a safe, clean, organized, environment
Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
Physically remains on the premises of assigned location for the duration of the shift, unless directed elsewhere by management or a supervisor
Ensures that the site and equipment are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition
Attends required trainings, staff meetings, and other meetings/events as requested
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
One year of experience working with at-risk adolescents
Highly organized and self-motivated
Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
Valid driver’s license
Car to use for work purposes
Willing and able to attend required trainings outside of normal work hours (between the hours of 9am-5pm)
