Summary:

The Mont Lawn Camp & Mont Lawn City Camp empowers children to thrive and succeed through transformative services that provide children with a positive first chance to break cycles of poverty, homelessness, and dependencies of many kinds.

The Program Coordinator in our South Bronx location will support program development and success, which includes but is not limited to: City Camp classes, Leadership Academy mentoring, tutoring, afterschool recreational offerings, events and field trips, communication with families, and transportation. The Program Coordinator will contribute to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skill-based curriculum, assist in supervision of assigned site, track attendance, enroll campers for Mont Lawn Camp (summer), and coordinate additional program data for organizational use. Program Coordinator will participate in sponsored events and manage day to day tasks of interns and volunteers. Program Coordinator will also assist in summer camp program development, supervision, and operations management (travel required).

Reports to: Program Manager, Mont Lawn City Camp

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 10 a.m-6:30 p.m. and some Saturdays

Responsibilities include:

Program development for City Camp through curriculum writing (SEL skills) and Summer Camp through activity development, scheduling, and operations support
Teach classes, support class teacher, purchase and distribute class supplies, and ensure an integrated teaching approach
Track metrics, provide correspondence to parents and site coverage during class hours
Enroll campers for City Camp program offerings and City Camp campers in Mont Lawn Camp summer program
Ensure enrollment guidelines are adhered to by all staff, interns, and volunteers assisting in enrollment
Arrange and execute camper transportation, client and family egress management, reception, and site appointment scheduling
Record census and guest/client data and ensure team follows verbal and written reporting protocols for any incidents
Plan and coordinate five major annual events

Requirements:

Embraces the Bowery Mission’s Statement of Faith
Associates degree
Fluency in Spanish
One year of experience in Children’s Ministry, Non-Profit, or Human Services
Knowledge of Teaching & Discipleship, Program Development, Lesson Synthesis, and SEL skills administration
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must be willing to travel to our Mont Lawn Summer Camp located in Pennsylvania during the summer
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

Bachelors degree strongly preferred
Supervisory experience
Mental Health First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR/First Aid, and F-02 Fire Safety
NYS Driver License strongly preferred
