Mark Navarro (he/him) is a communicator for social good with over a decade of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. During his career, he has worked at a variety of local, regional, and national organizations and led work streams aimed at telling the stories of social change organizations and the people with whom they work.
Mark completed a three-year fellowship with The Skillman Foundation in 2022, which afforded him the opportunity to hone his skills as a communicator and project leader. He has led and developed communications and marketing content and strategies across a variety of organizations. His areas of expertise include writing and editing, graphic design, communications planning and strategy, email marketing, web design and maintenance, and social media. In his career, he has shown quantitative and qualitative success, showing growth in key metrics and earning positive feedback on his work and the impact it has on organizations’ missions around the country. He prides himself on his ability to balance the technical with the personal, ensuring his work maintains its focus on the issues that affect our communities and the residents in those communities.
Mark earned a bachelor's of arts in creative writing and English from the University of Michigan and a master’s of public administration (with a focus on nonprofit police and management) from Wayne State University. He also holds professional certificates and specializations in content strategy (Northwestern University), nonprofit marketing and strategic communications (Arizona State University), graphic design (California Institute of the Arts), social impact storytelling (Georgetown University), social media strategy (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), project management (Cornell University), and nonprofit management (Wayne State University).
