Audit readiness is built throughout the year, not in the weeks before the audit. This interactive workshop will demystify the nonprofit audit process and help nonprofit leaders understand what to expect before, during, and after an audit. Through practical examples and a case study, participants will explore how to prepare for and manage the audit process, respond to auditor requests, and understand and act on audit results.
In this workshop, participants will:
Understand the purpose of a nonprofit audit and the roles of organizational leadership and the auditor.
Identify key practices, records, and documentation that support audit readiness.
Learn practical strategies for managing auditor requests and the audit process.
Understand key post-audit documents, including audited financial statements, auditor communications, and Form 990, and identify appropriate follow-up actions.
No accounting or audit experience is required.
