The Bowery Mission raises significant funds each year through strategic fundraising events. Events range from cocktail receptions, gala dinners and lunches, to private dinners, webinars, program client graduations, and more. Join a dynamic and creative team and work closely with staff on the Development and Program Teams to provide engaging events for our donors.

The Events Coordinator will assist in administrative and coordinating duties related to all events for which the Events team is responsible in full or in part.  This team provides fundraising tools in the form of events for our development team, working with our program leaders to help raise critical funds necessary to transform lives at The Bowery Mission.  The Bowery Mission events seek to create moving and memorable experiences that lead to giving and connection.

Reports to: Manager, Events

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist with administrative tasks and the planning and execution of major and cultivation events. These include, but are not limited to, task management, guest list management, management of event related mailings, communication with vendors, managing expenses, supervision and execution of event loading and unloading, event set up and clean up, inventory system management, event staff management, keeping up to date on event industry trends.

Assist in coordinating and execution of Thanksgiving week activities and logistics. Work closely with Volunteer Services to recruit and manage the volunteer team for Thanksgiving including pre-event orientations, trainings and post-event follow up.

Qualifications:

Embrace the organization’s Statement of Faith.
Have a high attention to detail.
Skilled in the use of technology, including google docs, task management software, and other event management software and tools.
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Ability to work in a high stress environment and adapt to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs.
Ability to navigate difficult situations while maintaining high level performance and a professional demeanor.
Experience in planning and executing of events.
Growing passion for those experiencing homelessness, hunger and poverty.
Preferred:

Fundraising, sales, or customer service experience
Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Knowledge of basic graphic design theory
Knowledge of video editing, virtual event streaming platforms, online ticketing platforms etc.
Bachelor’s Degree
