HOW MUCH TIME DOES THE ORGANIZATION DEDICATE TO THE PROGRAM?
The most intensive part of the program, that requires various stakeholders in the organization to participate, is the Impact Capacity Assessment, typically administered sometime in Month 3 of the program. This requires some pre-planning with the Navigator Working Group and about 45-minutes for each participant to complete their assessment survey (we typically give 2-weeks for participants to find the time to complete). Outside of the organizational assessment, the individuals in the Navigator Working Group can expect to spend about 1- to 2-hours per month meeting with the organization’s Navigator.
DO WE HAVE TO ADMINISTER THE ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT?
Yes, as part of the program every organization must administer and debrief the Impact Capacity Assessment Tool (iCAT) – unless the organization has administered the iCAT within 6 months of starting the program.
HOW IS A NAVIGATOR SELECTED, DO WE HAVE ANY SAY?
We pair navigator’s first, based on their geographic relativity to the organization’s location and community served. We want our navigators first to be familiar with the community and the geopolitical aspects of funding and community needs. Support Center’s program staff collects and records information leading up to the start of the program from initial conversations and organizational documents submitted. We use this information to finalize a navigator pairing based on relative background experience and knowledge of the organization’s sector/ focus issues. We check in with organizations at the end of Month 2 in the program to see how the relationship building is going and if the pairing is a good fit. We have the capacity to adjust if needed, but so far in the program’s existence have had to re-pair an organization with a different Navigator!
DO WE HAVE TO PAY UP FRONT TO PARTICIPATE?
No, we can set up payment plans that work for the organization. Most of our clients prefer to be invoiced in quarterly installments – we can be flexible!
