Chela Sanchez epitomizes reliability, creativity, energy, and heart.
As a proud child of Mexican immigrants, Chela has worked in tandem with nonprofits throughout her career to ensure their voices are heard.
In 2002 she helped found the Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund, which provides opportunities for Latinx students in the Southern Oregon region to complete their post-high school career/degree. As a first-generation Mexican American this organization is very near and dear to her heart. Chela continues her work with SOLSF in an advisory role and assists with capacity building. She is also a past President of the Junior League of Jackson County in Southern Oregon.
With vision, insight, and passion for her community, she founded her own nonprofit; Adelante Community Partners. Chela is known for her ability to excel at a wide variety of projects including project management, community building, and mobilizing resources to execute action.
Vicki and Chela have worked with a broad range of organizations, including small grassroots organizations, faith-based organizations, professional associations, and Fortune 100 companies.
