Paula Toynton is a strategist and facilitator with more than 30 years of experience in community-based development, public health planning, and service delivery. Her work focuses on helping organizations design and implement community-centered strategies that strengthen impact, build capacity, and support long-term sustainability.
She brings deep expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, training design, and facilitation, with a particular emphasis on adult learning, behavior change, and building cultures of belonging. Known for her high-impact instructional design and training methods, Paula leverages her understanding of human behavior and communication to translate complex ideas into practical, actionable strategies. Paula partners with nonprofit, philanthropic, and public sector organizations to co-create evidence-based solutions that reflect the voices of the communities they serve. Her approach is grounded in an understanding of identity, belonging, and othering, supporting organizations in moving from insight to implementation. She is the founder of Toynton LLC and holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Rutgers University.
