Rosalind Wilson trains staff and consults with nonprofit organizations and small businesses in the areas of governance and leadership, organizational and resource development, research, strategic planning, and evaluation. She has solid experience working in health, public health, and human services, rising from service delivery to management and administration at top New York City nonprofit organizations. Ms. Wilson held a key management position at United Way of New York City where she was responsible for four major programs including the agency’s Community Agency Development grant program in which she helped agencies identify key developmental needs and plan efforts to build their capacity in program and board development, fundraising, and overall agency operations. She served as deputy director for Institute programs at the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health in Brooklyn, NY and as a consultant in the Laboratory for Informatics, Complexity and Organizational Study at Columbia University.
She is a founder and CEO of Community Resources of New York, LLC, a consulting firm that serves the needs of non-profit and small, new, and emerging businesses that provide health and human services to ethnically and economically disadvantaged communities since 1995.
Ms. Wilson is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker with a Master of Science degree from Columbia University. She has completed coursework in organizational development, change management, leadership, social administration, social policy, behavioral health an educational achievement. Her research interests focus on issues related to organizational performance, failure, and resilience.
She has a strong commitment to research on organizations. She was a member of a team of researchers at Columbia University Medical Center who evaluated organizational communication and integration in over 20 public health departments throughout the US, the implementation of Public Health Reporting technologies at five agencies funded by the NYS Department of Health, and the communication network of public health officers around the country. She is co-author of several publications focusing on this research agenda. Ms. Wilson has been a Investigator in grants funded under several divisions of the National Institutes of Health including securing a 3 year grant for over $900K.
Ms. Wilson has a strong record of community service and advocacy including serving as the Founding Chair of the Board of Directors of a Brooklyn non-profit and as a board member on two Manhattan non-profit organizations. She is a former member of the NYS Area Health Education Center Advisory Board, the Coalition to Increase Diversity in the Health Professions and the Supervisory Committee of Homesteader’s Federal Credit Union.
