We will demystify financial statements. This session will make fiscal management easier and infinitely more enjoyable. Using actual examples of financial reports, we will break the code and elicit the real story behind the numbers. This session will also get you ready for that next grant or board meeting by allowing you to translate program/agency strategies into meaningful fiscal language. No previous financial experience is needed for this highly interactive session

Daonese Johnson-Colón is the founder of Coaching Amplifies, LLC, a nonprofit consulting and coaching practice that helps mission-driven organizations strengthen the operational infrastructure needed to achieve their goals. With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, operations, and organizational development, she works with executive directors, boards, and leadership teams to build stronger organizations, improve decision-making, and create the conditions for long-term sustainability.
Throughout her career, Daonese has served in senior executive leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief of Staff, and Interim Chief Executive Officer, overseeing finance, human resources, governance, compliance, strategic planning, and organizational operations. Drawing on that experience, she helps nonprofit leaders build confidence in financial leadership, navigate complex operational challenges, and implement practical solutions that strengthen organizational capacity. Her
consulting and facilitation focus on nonprofit financial management, governance, audit readiness, internal controls, budgeting, and organizational effectiveness.
In addition to her consulting practice, Daonese is an educator, executive coach, and faculty mentor. She serves as an adjunct lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, facilitates leadership development programs for nonprofit professionals, and mentors emerging leaders through the New York Giants Touchdown Fellowship. Her facilitation style is collaborative, equity-centered, and action-oriented, creating learning environments where participants leave with greater confidence and concrete next steps
