You’ve Got the Grant – Now What?

Congratulations, you just got a grant. What happens next?
Writing a grant application feels like very hard work and it’s only the beginning. In this workshop, participants will learn what it takes to execute an award: implementing the work, tracking spending, and reporting on the work. We’ll also talk about developing a relationship with the funder, and what to do when things don’t go as planned.

Facilitator:

Alexandra Bowie is a successful and experienced consultant to not-for-profit agencies. She has been director of Quality Assurance/Improvement at two large multiservice agencies and was an early advocate of the development and use of outcome measurements in child welfare. Ms. Bowie was a co-founder of the New York City Outcomes Group, in which foster care agencies collaborated in the development of foster care outcomes and data analysis methods.

Ms. Bowie’s work with not-for-profits in and around New York City since 1998 has spanned projects from planning and analysis, project management, strategic planning, to report and grant writing in sectors as diverse as child welfare, supportive housing, workforce development, early childhood education, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and education. She has raised tens of millions of dollars in grant funding in federal, state, local, and foundation grants
