The Evaluation Manager is responsible for supporting all stages of Ramapo for Children NYC evaluation projects (inclusive of Ramapo Training, Youth Development Institute at Ramapo for Children, and National School Climate Center at Ramapo for Children). This person helps ensure NSCC at Ramapo is meeting clients’ evaluation needs and is up to date on education and youth development trends and best practices. This person will report to the Senior Director of Evaluation and Measurement and works closely with other departments to ensure data integrity and to advance programs, products, and services using empirical evidence.

Responsibilities

1. Manage several of Ramapo NYC’s current evaluation activities related to school climate, youth development, and other interventions.

Create work plans and manage new and ongoing evaluation projects, including conducting literature reviews, to compose project rationales, plans for participant recruitment and data collection, basic analytic plans, reporting plans, and timelines
Prepare, clean, and analyze data using SPSS, STATA, and Excel
Conduct evaluation on Ramapo NYC programs and initiatives to analyze need, implementation, and effectiveness
Create, test, and administer surveys using various survey administration software (Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, Google Forms, etc.), and monitor user responses
Work collaboratively with other staff on multiple evaluation projects, including those managed by other departments
Conduct and transcribe interviews; code and analyze qualitative data
Work with others to ensure data integrity by checking the accuracy of surveys, data, and reports from the internal system
Prepare materials for submission to the institutional review board
Identify funding opportunities for evaluation and assist in the writing of grant proposals
2. Prepare and present Ramapo NYC’s evaluation findings for multiple audiences.

Analyze data evaluation findings for publication for clients, educators, school leaders, academic journals, and policymakers
Prepare evaluation findings for publication, including editing, writing, and collaboration on the design of reports
Prepare and deliver presentations on evaluation findings for academic, education, and policy audiences, including at conferences and webinars
Publicize evaluation findings and information about the Department’s work through various platforms
3. Work together with Ramapo NYC staff and key organizational associates to promote the organization’s mission.

Reply to external requests for information about Ramapo NYC’s evaluation activities and to general evaluation questions, including requests for applications to the institutional review board
Answer internal requests for evaluation results and data of use to Ramapo NYC’s other programming efforts
Provide technical assistance and manage relationships with clients, outside evaluators, and partner organizations
Qualifications

Requirements

Master’s degree in Psychology, Public Health, Education, or other Social Sciences, or related field and 4+ years of evaluation-related work experience.
Professional experience with quantitative evaluation and familiarity with qualitative evaluation.
Experience managing data-driven projects
Prior experience with data cleaning and analysis
Working knowledge of Stata and SPSS required
Strong grasp of education trends, mainly related to school climate, youth development, and social-emotional learning.
High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong familiarity with social media tools (e.g., Twitter, Facebook)
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments
Comfortable working with a very high degree of autonomy and responsibility
Well-organized and thorough, with close attention to detail and follow-through
A strategic, creative, and progressive thinker
Working Conditions

Ramapo for Children has an open-space office environment and operates on a Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM EST workday; all staff is currently working remotely. This position allows for flexibility in work location and standard hours at the discretion of the Senior Director of Evaluation, Research, and Measurement and within the parameters of the Employee Handbook, however mandatory in-office meetings occur at least monthly. Access to computers, the internet, and printing technology is available in the office and a laptop will be provided to support remote work as needed. This position may require periodic day and overnight travel.

Salary Range $70,000-$75,000. Competitive benefits.
