Girl Be Heard’s Programs staff is part of a close knit, dedicated and energetic team.
The Program Manager, Special Projects will work in tandem with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, and Director of Education as needed. The Program Manager has strong project management skills including developing contracts, supervising teaching artists, conducting program evaluation, overseeing data entry, and identifying recruitment and retention strategies.

The Program Manager – Special Projects is an integral member of the GBH Program Team and will work in tandem with the Director of Programs and other GBH staff as needed to ensure that outreach and recruitment strategies are thoughtfully planned and executed, as well as overseeing 2 GBH special projects – Be! Workshops and GBH Podcast. The Program Manager should possess the capacity to build strong relationships with GBH program stakeholders, identify outreach, recruitment, and enrollment strategies, as well as possess excellent project management skills including overseeing program implementation, conducting program evaluation, overseeing data entry, and supervising teaching artists.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses flexibility, professionalism, passion, and a dedication to positive youth development, social justice, and spoken word performance. They are a hands-on strategic thinker, a planner and problem solver, prepared to lead and direct staff through change and program expansion. Excellent communication skills are critical. The Program Manager – Special Projects must be comfortable communicating with the people who receive services and their families, and equally comfortable presenting before school leaders and members of the community.

Responsibilities include:
Artistic Manager Team Management
Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Artistic Director on curriculum planning, outlining, and pacing, in line with the standards outlined in the GBH Curriculum and Programs Calendar.
Collaborate with the Artistic Director to implement weekly lesson plans for company member sessions, including identifying lesson resources etc.
Attend weekly company sessions and complete follow up SF session reports.
Serve as the assistant director in devising and directing the Mainstage show.
Assist the Artistic Director and/or stage managers in handling Mainstage rehearsals and performance.

Girl Make Moves (GMM)
In coordination with the Director of Programs, recruit, hire, train, and evaluate one GMM teaching artist.
In coordination with Outreach Manager, support the outreach and recruitment efforts of GMM.
In collaboration with GMM teaching artist (and advisement of DoP), manage the application and selection process of GMM participants.
Support GMM teaching artist with implementing the GBH leadership as an ensemble framework into GMM curriculum – on topics specific to identity, leadership, power, privilege, oppression, activism;
Support GMM teaching artist in identifying guest filmmakers and documentarians and manage logistics around booking of guests.
Support GMM Teaching Artist in ensuring participants have the necessary program resources and equipment to engage at maximum capacity.
Ensure that GMM teaching artist submit required administrative documentation in a timely manner, including submission of enrollment forms, releases, weekly attendance, google classroom resources, session reports, staff/participant survey, special projects report, and participant experience forms at conclusion of each cycle.
Provide programmatic and administrative support to GMM TA and conduct workshop visits to offer feedback that serve as coaching opportunities for Teaching Artist.
Support Teaching Artist in producing the end of year screening showcase.

GBH Summer Camps
Serve as the lead coordinator for Girl Be Heard Camps, including leading curriculum development, implementation, evaluation and pacing in line with the standards outlined in GBH Curriculum and Programs Calendar.
Collaborate with the Director of Programs to conceptualize focus of summer camps.
In coordination with Outreach Manager, support the outreach and recruitment efforts of summer camp.
In collaboration with camp support staff (and advisement of DoP), manage the application and selection process of camp participants.
Oversee implementation of the GBH leadership as an ensemble framework into camp curriculum – on topics specific to identify, leadership, power, privilege, oppression, activism;
Ensure submission of required administrative documentation in a timely manner, including submission of enrollment forms, releases, weekly attendance, google classroom resources, session reports, staff/participant survey, special projects report, and participant experience forms at conclusion of each cycle.
Managing logistics around booking, planning, and payments program descriptions.
Submit special projects report at conclusion of program experience;
Other projects as assigned
School/Community Collaborations
Work with the GBH Communications team to ensure effective promotion of programs and events.
Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
At least 2 years of program/project management experience
Candidates considering a career in nonprofit administration, arts administration, and/or theatre.
Interest in and knowledge of global women’s issues and arts education.
Experience working with youth, theatre, and school programs. Familiarity with and knowledge of (devised) theatre preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage time.
Team player with a commitment to seeing a project through to successful completion.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to juggle priorities, willingness to learn, and a sense of humor are highly valued attributes.
Computer literacy: Google Apps and Drive, Excel, and Word required. Salesforce and Basecamp knowledge are pluses.
Social media savvy is a plus.
