Dragon Master Foundation – Development/Philanthropy Manager
Location: flexible, but Wichita, KS area preferred
Salary: $40-$55,000 full time. Flexible schedule, but predominantly weekdays.
This position will be responsible to:
-Qualify a caseload (40-50) of donors from a larger group of donors to Dragon Master Foundation.
-Develop individual goals for each donor in the caseload based on the donor’s history of giving and
Dragon Master Foundation’s knowledge of that donor’s potential.
-Create a personal contact and ask plan for each donor on the caseload that considers the individual
donor’s passions, interests, motivations, giving patterns, and ask preferences—executing this plan in
a timely and cost-effective manner, which results in the retention and upgrading of donors.
-Collaborate with program volunteers to secure appropriate project information, including budgets, and
create philanthropic investment opportunities, proposals, and asks that will be used with donors on
the caseload to secure gifts and report back on how their giving is making a difference.
-Implement the fundraising sales process including ranking and rating the portfolio, developing
prospect strategies, drafting visit checklists, crafting follow up, closing gifts, and sharing
impact.
-Perform other major donor activities as may be required by management, including creating monthly
reports that accurately reflect caseload activity and performance.
-Manage donor relationships, fundraising sales process, and deadlines while adhering to the policies
and procedures of Dragon Master Foundation.
-Be a team player and protect the mission, goals, and values of Dragon Master Foundation.
-Support local fundraising events.
-Attend occasional out of state events.
-Performs other duties as required.
-Manage state charitable solicitation registrations on a state by state basis
The ideal candidate will be passionate about Dragon Master Foundation’s mission and bring to the work many of the qualifications below.
-Demonstrated experience and success in fundraising in or for a mission-oriented organization,
particularly in closing major gifts at the $10,000+ level.
-Strong appetite for continuously finding creative strategies and tactics to generate compelling major
gift opportunities.
-Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored plans for solicitations and follow established
procedures for tracking, qualifying and managing prospects.
-High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising.
-Proven ability to interact with, earn trust from, and influence philanthropic donors and leaders.
-A team player with a high degree of accountability, strong work ethic, creative and collaborative
approach to teamwork who inspires teammates to contribute their best.
-Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to listen to and
balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
-Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and
prioritization to meet deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree and/or two years advancement, major gifts, or fundraising experience
– Proficient in common fundraising software/technology including integrated database systems,
Microsoft Office, CRMs, and social media platforms.
– Demonstrated ability to manage time, deadlines, and confidentiality.
– Ability to regularly work night and weekend hours, as needed.
– Commitment to Dragon Master Foundation’s values of passion, pioneering spirit, integrity,
accountability, and excellence.
– Access to consistent mode of transport for relationship building as needed throughout the state of
Kansas.
– Able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and credit investigation.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
– At least three years of progressive fund-raising experience in a not-for-profit organization, with a
background in the cultivation and solicitation of individual donors and a proven ability to develop,
solicit, and steward major gifts.
