Responsibilities

Supervision

  • Provide ongoing supervision and support for the hiring of the Disability and Program Development Training team.
  • Design and implement ongoing training and professional learning communities for the Training Team.
  • Lead the development of ongoing supervision and accountability structures and protocols for the Team and support the alignment of these systems across the organization.

Program Management, Design, and Expansion

  • Serve as a thought leader in this program area across the organization, including participating in external networks in the field.
  • Oversee the implementation of an internship program that builds the capacity of high school and college-age staff to support students with disabilities.  Design, implement and evaluate new modalities for capacity building.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Partnerships and External Affairs to adapt content and programs for new partners and funders.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Evaluation to ensure the incorporation of program feedback.
  • Oversee the design and scaling of all administrative and operational supports to program implementation.
  • Provide capacity building and technical assistance to schools and community-based organizations.

Content Development

  • Design and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive content development plan including the ongoing development, expansion, and update of disability and Program Development related curriculum, training, and learning modules.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Evaluation to write and disseminate policy briefs related to disability and Program Development best practices and learnings from the field.
  • Oversee ongoing audits of existing curriculum content and conduct research to ensure the incorporation of a racial and diverse lens to all content.
  • Convene and facilitate a best practices group of educators that support students affected by Autism around scaffolding social skills towards restorative practices

Budget Management

  • Overseeing the management of the Disability and Program Development budget including providing quarterly projections.
  • Support the Director of Development and Communication in monitoring allocation of all related grants and providing reports as necessary.
  • Oversee the development of contracting and invoicing processes in collaboration with the Finance and Administrative Team.
  • Review and approve all consultant invoices, engagement documentation, and incidental expenses.

Cross-Team Collaboration and Communication

  • Participate as an active member of Ramapo NYC’s Leadership Team, bringing the lens of Disability and Program Development to all programs.
  • Participate in a task force of community-based agencies supporting children with disabilities in order to identify ways in which we can support staff capacity-building needs.
  • Support the development and revision of program logic models and the organization’s theory of change.
  • Ensure the team’s participation in and contribution to organization-wide social media strategy and presence.
  • Be a resource to family engagement and early childhood programs serving students with disabilities.
  • Work across teams to ensure our work with families, schools, and communities centers transforming the experience of students with disabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience planning and developing training modules for various audiences within NYC schools and/or Community Based Organizations.
  • 5+ years of experience working in schools and/or Community Based Organizations that serve to integrate youth development, principles, and practices into the process of educating young people.
  • 5+ years experience in developing and managing educational programs for teams working in Special Education or disability focussed Community Based Organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, or a related field is required.
  • Extensive knowledge in the operations of school programs, and community-based organizations serving young people with disabilities.
  • Provide support with relationship building with external community partners and key community stakeholders for Ramapo for Children.
  • Experience in content curation that focuses on training, providing immediate knowledge, and supporting gaps in training needs through proactive and planned strategies.
  • Must have experience facilitating and addressing complex problems.
  • Must have familiarity with quality improvement methods that identify and measure changes made to improve a system.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate project buy-in.
  • Must have the ability to think critically and maintain a detailed orientation when accomplishing all tasks.
  • Must have the desire to learn, grow, and commit to the growth and development of the Disability and Program Development team members.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to equity, program development, and the ability to incorporate an equity lens into the development of internal procedures and external content.
  • Must have a successful track record of setting priorities, shaping processes, and executing them quickly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, in a related field, and/or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in family and community engagement, community-based organizations, and social work.
  • Experience using and managing Salesforce.
  • Experience in online blogging, social media marketing, and video storytelling.
  • Experience in various learning management systems.

Pay and Benefits

Up to $75,000.00 per year
