Organizational Background: The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) is the nation’s only pan-Asian children and families’ advocacy organization bringing together community based organizations as well as youth and parents to fight for equity for Asian Pacific American (APA) children and families. CACF aims to improve the health and well-being of Asian Pacific American children in New York City. Founded in 1986, CACF works to transform the Asian Pacific American (APA) community through fostering collaboration, promoting community leadership, and building a collective voice.

CACF is seeking a full-time Grants and Contracts Manager to manage government contracts for CACF and be a part of a team supporting community-based organizations with funds for capacity building and the provision of culturally competent, language accessible services to the community.

Primary Responsibilities
The Grants and Contracts Manager will manage contract requirements, subcontracting, and compliance for CACF. Candidates must be prepared to work closely with City and/or State government agencies, CACF member agencies and partners, community leaders, and elected and appointed officials.

The Grants and Contracts Manager will join a collaborative environment and work with other program and policy staff at CACF to support implementation of, and advocacy for, government funded programs, such as New York City Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (CCNSF), Access Health NYC, and the New York State In-Person Health Navigator. Duties involve:

  • Coordinate with senior leadership team to manage City and State contract execution, compliance, and implementation for CACF
  • Supervise Grants Program Coordinator and possibly other contracts support staff to ensure successful implementation of programs and support of program awardees
  • Collaborate with Director of Development to submit government proposals and contracts
  • Provide invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of contract processes
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with contracted programs
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all contract related activities
  • Manage subcontracting process to organizations, including assisting organizations to understand contracting requirements for sub-awardees and being part of a team to provide TA to sub-awardees
  • Keep the relevant staff from CACF and subcontracted organizations informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to the subcontracted organization’s staff on the RFP process, grants management, and reporting requirements

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Commitment to CACF’s mission, children’s rights, and social justice
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree plus 3+ years related experience in government contract administration/management
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects
  • Financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting
  • Good understanding of Asian Pacific American communities and non-profit organizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; persuasive and collaborative communicator with a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with varied constituencies, including Board members, staff, social service organizations, elected and appointed officials, and government agencies
  • Ability to work with diverse staff and flexibility to work on multiple tasks under pressure.

Salary and Benefits
